WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, GOES ON THE BLOG

One of the most unusual places we saw on this whole trip was Oatman, CA. We had to drive across the desert and up a narrow steep mountain barely two lane road. After a hour of hairpin curves, we arrived at Oatman. It was like a mini Gatlinburg with burros wandering everywhere. That's right, burros, ...donkeys.... and they have the right of way!

Las Vegas was not what I expected. The town is HUGE with QUITE a bit of real estate for sale. The casino part of the city was a carnival atmosphere at night. During the daylight, the buildings are TRULY enormous. In other parts of town, the homeless gathered in "blanket cities" on the sidewalks. We ate brunch at the Bellagio.....FABULOUS! Salmon, trout, herring, polenta, blintzs, scones, filet....ANYthing you wanted at this buffet! We met our new best friends there, Frank and Merrin from Glasgow, Scotland. He belongs to Glen Eagles Golf Club in Scotland, and Larry has played that course! The Bellagio Hotel and Casino has Dale Chihuly glass sculptures covering the ceiling in the lobby. What a wonderful place....who wants to go for a weekend later??
