HOW MERLOT CAN YOU GO?

Seriously, how fun is this? Renting a limo and hitting winery tastings! Pellarini was the best the first day. The wine was VERY good ....AND Mr Pellarini gave us a great tour...even opening a vat so we could see and smell.....WHEW.... the wine fermenting. WAIT A MINUTE..How did Bentley get here?

Guido even picked some grapes right off the vine, and we enjoyed those seedy little things in the limo. Onward we went to the Redwood forest. Can you imagine this limo pulling up into a park picnic area? It was so beautiful and serene....almost religious. We spread out this wonderful feast that Marty and Leigh Ann had gathered for us... cheeses...crackers....fruit...wraps....sandwiches....and Ghirardelli chocolates!

Back in the limo and on over the Russian River to the ocean at Bodega Bay. This town was where The Birds was filmed and our driver took us past the schoolhouse and the pier that were scenes in the movie. I don't think I ever got all the way through that movie........... Kerry and Jim had family to visit in SF, so they left us.

Today, we drove ourselves to the Iron Horse Winery, famous for their wine (which is served at the White House) and their tasty olives and oviles. Fun place especially Shirley, our pourer.
We ended up in Hearldville, a little square of pricey shops where we watched a wedding and gobbled down sandwiches and malts. See you back at home, Marty and Leigh Ann.

Some people leave their hearts in San Francisco.......We left our winter jackets and some medical supplies. Putting the best spin on it, it was an opportunity to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and have one more look at San Francisco, The City By the Bay! The bad part was the hour and a half we waited in traffic to leave the city by the Bay Bridge.....didn't help it was rush hour AND there was some construction on the bridge going down to ONE LANE for a while. We almost reached the Nevada line tonight!!
