Whew we drove FOREVER today...we changed our route and skipped Salt Lake City so we could miss the boring desert. Instead, we mashed north to Idaho...which was a half baked idea because it was deserty too. But we tried to drive the Spud limit because, after all it WAS Idaho, potato capital of the country. After eating lunch over looking the falls at Idaho Falls, we began to notice the elevation changing!!! and then as we got higher, SNOW!!!
The elevation was 8,000 feet when we began our decent into a deep valley at the foot of the magnificent Tetons.......so THAT'S why it's called Jackson Hole!!!!
Seems like a great place....lots and lots of shopping and restaurants!! Today I took a stroll just around our hotel and met Heidi outside the pet store. I will check it all out tomorrow!
Our room is cool...everything..headboard desk, table, chairs, even the drawers and TV are all made out of tree branches. I feel like I'm at Camp Willson! The weather is in the mid 50s during the day so I am still in my sandals...I did notice there were places to pull over and put CHAINS on the tires of your car....Like to be long gone before we meet that crisis. Also saw emergency radio frequency signs posted. Probably my brother Bill's company!!
