STROLLING ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY

watching the day roll away..........

You can see this city so many different ways.....by Cable Cars, Segway, Duck Tours, Helicopter, Kayak, but Larry and I just strolled along together. San Francisco was started as another Spanish mission , but grew because gold was discovered not far from here in 1849. Today it is a city of great diversity, many different kinds of people live here! You will see many people of various cultures! Even pirates!

Some famous landmarks are The Golden Gate Bridge; Alcatraz, the prison on the rock island; Sea lions NOISILY jockeying for position on the pier; and Cable Cars because SF is a city built on steep hills. Boudin makes its bread in lots of shapes...alligaters, turtles, lobsters....Later we went to dinner at Scomas...that's Larry with his Cioppino (hunks of seafood soup) and afterward to the Bueno Vista where Irish Coffee was first introduced in the US. We sat with an actual Irish couple, Jim and Mary O'Neill, who were touring the USA: a group of ladies, Zulay, Carol, and Kathleen from San Jose who were recovering from a heavy shopping day; and two gals who were celebrating their DAUGHTERS run in the marathon today!!

The big news today is the wildfires that are out of control in Malibu, Yikes! We just drove through there two days ago!
