BOTTLE OF WINE, FRUIT OF THE VINE

Larry and I drove north this morning over the Bay Bridge. Such a strange bridge...It has two levels..going north you are on the bottom level, coming back to SF you would be on the top level. We drove over to Travis Air Force Base where Larry used to be stationed. You would not believe the amount of red tape we had to go through just to get a picture of the sign!!!

We met Leigh Ann, Marty, Kerry, and Dan at Domain Chandon Champagne Winery in Napa Valley for a wonderful lunch and refreshments. We celebrated their run and got to hear all the details. The girls are in great shape, a little stiff, but no blisters!! Including quite few pictures for our favorite food enthusiasts.....three meals, three deserts..........yum!

Heading over the steep ridge on constant u turn roads to Sonoma Valley was exciting. We are staying at Casa Carolina, a bed and breakfast owned by Jan Laabs' sister in law. Tonight we were visited by a neighbor, Lynda Kanzler, who own a successful vineyard/winery. She brought Pinot Noir wine for us to sample and we learned about the wine business firsthand!!

The B+B has chickens, lambs, and a donkey, an olive tree and a persimmon tree, plus a wonderful garden. Larry enjoyed feeding Lily, the lamb, her bottle!
