BIG IN IOWA

No, we didn't find that singing group here...They are probably still back at The Upper Deck.

The wind is BIG in Iowa......gusty, strong, and blustery....and the sun is shining!

The flatness is BIG in Iowa.....land and crops as far as the eye can see...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Hawkeye State is the home of President Herbert Hoover, that poor guy who always gets blamed for the Great Depression. We can't find anything here in De Moines of historical value. They are proud of their caucus, their sports, and their shopping malls.........not all bad.....

Still on the look out for those clever business names... Recently we saw a consignment store called Consigning Women! Also a casual restaurant named The Grateful Shed.

Hey you two! It is raining in Florida today so I am forced to stay inside and read my e-mail which has almost 200 unread messages! Sorry I have not been reading your fabulous blog on your tour of America - yes, it is like a US history tour through your eyes! I have enjoyed it tremendously as I have only read your entire trip just today - took me two hours or so in between interruptions but I am so envious of you. I have been all over the world but not seen much of the US! Did have some wonderful memories come flowing back reading about your antics in California! I love Carmel and Monterey myself! I am so happy that your terrifying accident did not deter you from completing this fabulous trip of a lifetime! Keep on making those memories and travel safely back to Ohio! And yes, all those places you have visited and made new best friends will never be the same! Love you both dearly, Rita
