Jennie clued us in on a restaurant to try on our way south....She saw it highlighted on the Food Channel..... Its called the Beacon Drive In in Spartenburg. We asked a native for directions and were asked back, "How's your heart?" No kidding.........
Been in existence since the 1940's....lots of expansions...since beginning as a regular sized drive in. First you have to figure out which of the gazillion combinations you want and you tell your order to the blind 100 year old man at the end of the food line. He HOLLERS it out and you move on down the line. We unknowingly ordered a burger A-PLENTY, which means your plate is loaded to the brim with fries and onion rings.... As they say in the Princess Bride, "Incontheeeeveable!" It was a heart attack on a plate! Local fun place we would recommend to everyone at least once...
