The weekend started with my Movie and Lunch Bunch meeting for lunch at Meadowlark's. Afterwards, several of us went to see Atonement..........which I truly got lost in until the end. Saturday we met Linda and Fred for dinner at Rue Domaine, the new little French Bistro in town. We had actually given each other gift certificates there for Christmas!!! The wonderful meal was finished off at Jay's for cappuccinos.....YUM YUM YUM!
We celebrated St Paddy's Day at MCL this year having dinner with Mom.......a far cry from the old days of green beer, green spaghetti, and green eggs and ham.
My book club met this week and discussed the book, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. An excellent read if you are looking for a good book. Afterwards we made Butter Lambs for Easter. I actually sculpted this by hand out of three sticks of real butter! As you can see in the last pictures, it looked great on our Easter table surrounded by rolls! Kristie brought Easter baskets for everyone and Jennie made a espresso chocolate mousse pie for dessert. Mom has a cold and didn't join us for dinner..........but her meal got hand delivered later.
My stitchery group met this week at Helen's. She practiced making a special desert for us which has a fancy name I can't remember. Creme Puffs filled with chocolate and carmel, coffee ice cream, drizzled with chocolate. YUM! This is a group already rich in grandchildren.....eleven, with eight more on the way this spring and summer. And that's only five of us too. The other five of us have none yet.
It seems that I am obsessed with food topics this week........Lettuce say goodbye for now.
