HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

My mom had a very special ninth decade birthday last week!!!

She celebrated with a bridge luncheon at One Lincoln Park with seven of her good friends. We ate a delicious lunch, enjoyed yummy birthday cake, and then the girls played bridge the rest of the afternoon. No better way to spend your special day than with your good friends!

On the weekend, my brother Bill drove in from Michigan with his family in a terrible snow storm! We planned a family picture and a dinner at Mom's favorite restaurant, but the weather was just TOO treacherous. Sooooooooo we just ordered pizza and enjoyed the day cosy together at Mom's house. Bill built a wonderful fire and read the good wishes and special memories our family members had sent Mom from all over the country. Our theme was 9 or 90 which led to some creative gifts! Mom received a necklace with 9 diamonds, 90 state quarters (which she collects), 9 gift certificates to her favorite grocery, 9 hairdos, and 9 boxes of her favorite cookies! She also received over 40 birthday cards from friends and family from all points on the compass. What a very special birthday for a very special lady!
